McDonald’s

Okay so I just need to say that I hate when I get into this conversation:

*My friends and I in a foreign country*
Friend: Where did you go eat?
Me: McDonald’s
Friend: Why would you go to McDonald’s in a foreign country?! You’re supposed to go to the traditional restaurants to really experience this country!

First, the traditional restaurants are not the only part of a country’s culture! I’ve been to McDonald’s in America, Guatamala, Italy, AND Ireland! And guess what! They have all been different. America is nasty, but Italy was super healthy and fancy! In fact, I wouldn’t mind being taken on a date to the Italian McDonald’s. France is not defined by its pastry shops, and Ireland is not defined by its fish and chips! McDonald’s is part of a culture, too!

Second, McDonald’s is also cheaper than eating at the traditional restaurants for every single meal. It’s not like I choose McDonald’s all of the time. I choose it for one of the many meals in that country and it’s as if I made the stupidest decision ever. I can’t blow all of my euros on gelato!

Third, what if I just feel like eating McDonald’s, huh? Have you ever thought of that? No. I never get McDonald’s in America because it sits in my stomach like the lump of fat that it is, so sometimes I want good McDonald’s in another country. Is that so wrong?

Fourth, if I didn’t go to McDonald’s in Ireland, I would never have gotten this picture of a broom picking a guy’s nose.

Fifth, look at all of the different McDonald’s!
